Nicole Henkel

NICOLE HENKEL (she/her) is a Connecticut and Massachusetts-based choreographer, performer, educator, and artist. Henkel’s choreographic and performative research strives to explore the complex and interwoven relationship that dance provides within our psychological and physiological kinespheres.
Henkel’s passion for dance lies within the power of movement as a visual expression of the internal self. She has choreographed adjudicated and non-adjudicated works for venues such as Spring for Spring Dance Festival, Boston Dance Studios, Alchemy Movement Showcase, Florence Summer Dance (Florence Italy), American Collegiate Dance Association, and Springfield College. Henkel has been honored to receive recognitions for her choreographic teachings, including Halo Awards, recently Best Musical in Connecticut for A Chorus Line and Best Dancing in CT for Hello Dolly!
She has performed works by renowned artists such as Contra-Tiempo, Monica Bill Barnes, Didy Veldman, Tatiana Desardouin, Darrell Grand Moultrie, Sarah Zehnder, Joanna Kotze, Kimani Fowlin, Kodee Van Nort and more. In addition to working with dance professionals, Henkel has extensive theater performance experience, exploring various roles as both performer and production team member.
Education: M.Ed. in School Counseling & School Adjustment Counseling from Springfield College. Bachelor of Arts in Dance, Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Springfield College.
